Traditional dark chocolate ingredients (Tesco Plain Dark 85% chocolate):

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds (if you need nut free version for for ground sunflower seeds)
  • 1 egg (for vegan version use 1 flax eggs which is 1 tbsp ground flax seeds mixed with 3 tbsp water, let sit for 10 minutes)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 small raw chocolate or dark chocolate
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 180c and line your baking tray with baking paper
  2. Put the oat flour, ground almonds, coconut sugar and baking powder in a bowl, combine well
  3. Next add the coconut oil, egg and vanilla extract (if using)
  4. Mix well, the mixture should be quite wet, so add the 1/4 cup of whole oats, combine again and place in the fridge for an hour
  5. Working with wet hands create small balls and place them on the lined baking tray. Wet a back of a tablespoon and press down to create a biscuit shape. The mixture will be sticky, so make sure you wet the spoon
  6. You should be able to make 12 biscuits.
  7. Bake the biscuits for around 20 minutes or until they’re golden brown and crisp. Once the time is up, switch the oven off and leave them in the oven for another 20 minutes with the oven door slightly open. This will make them extra crunchy!
  8. All is left to melt the chocolate and dip one side of the biscuits in.
